Since 2019, we have been involved with De Fontein, a help center for the homeless, aiding an average of 30 people a day!
Together we packed 75 pairs of warm leggings during a weekend in late October. We included a beautiful card in several languages with each pair of leggings. While this activity usually occurs in December, the cold winter days caused us to deliver the warm leggings earlier this year.
We enjoyed doing this charity project together to help others. The simplicity enabled all of us to participate.
In early November we brought the leggings to De Fontein. These were then distributed to the homeless, because they know the people well and also know who needs them most. That’s why we did not hand them out personally. The homeless also don’t come to De Fontein every day, which also makes it difficult to hand them out ourselves. We received very nice feedback from De Fontein and that the warm thermal leggings help the homeless survive the cold nights.
